Angela McCann Solicitor

Angela will speak on the topic of making application to Court on ground rent. Angela qualified in 1967 and worked with McCann FitzGerald until she set up to her own general practice, A. McCann & Co, in Dun Laoghaire and now practices from McCann Morrissey Clarke LLP. Angela has wide general experience as well as specializing in Property Law with a particular interest in enlarging the title to leasehold lands under the provisions of The Landlord and Tenant (Ground Rent) Acts.  She lectured as the consultant on the Law Society Landlord and Tenant Ground Rents module for over 20 years.

Michelle Linnane Solicitor

Michelle will speak on the topic of Commercial Leases. Michelle was a partner in McCann FitzGerald for 15 years and subsequently was consultant for 5 years with the legal division of the ESB primarily advising their pension fund in relation to their commercial property portfolio. Michelle is a lecturer and tutor on the landlord and tenant and conveyancing modules of the Professional Practice Courses at the Law School. She has been a co-author of the Oxford University Press Manual on Landlord and Tenant Law since its first edition in 2000. She was external examiner to the Law School 2000-2015. Michelle lectured in 3 universities in Vietnam in 2014 under the International Rule of Law programme.

Susan Martin Solicitor

Susan will speak on the procedures and practice in bringing or defending landlord and tenant applications in the Circuit Court including in respect of the contempt jurisdiction. She is a past-President of the DSBA, a Council Member of the Law Society of Ireland, and Rules of Court enthusiast. She has co-authored a number of legal text books. Susan is a doctoral candidate and recently submitted her doctoral thesis on the topic of solicitor-regulation.
