The Hon. Mr. Justice Michael Peart will chair the proceedings and moderate a short questions and answers session.

Keith Walsh SC will provide an update on the implications of Section 150 of the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015 since it’s commencement and will discuss the trends emerging and lessons learned in the application of the legislation.

Remy Farrell SC will provide a barrister’s perspective on changes to the legal costs environment and will provide recommendations on how to engage with counsel concerning legal costs and the different procedures and approaches taken when negotiating costs in criminal, civil, administrative and regulatory matters.

Paul Conlon will discuss recent developments in the adjudication of High Court Costs and provide useful suggestions regarding file management, time recording and presentation to help maximise the return from the adjudication process.

Maria Lakes Maria Lakes will discuss the meaning of “District Court Costs” as per Order 53 of the District Court Rules, within the context of personal injury claims in the District and Circuit Courts. This does not necessarily mean “scale costs” and there is significant discretion available to the Court when dealing with an Order for District Court Costs
