SPEAKERS

TONY O’SULLIVAN is a partner at Beauchamps Solicitors, he works predominantly with Irish and international property developers and specialises in large-scale, mixed retail, commercial and residential projects. Tony has extensive experience in reviewing and advising on specialist property matters, including: complex title structures, planning issues arising in large-scale developments, high-value property acquisitions and disposals, partnerships, joint ventures and collective property investments; business leases; and site assembly and development agreements. Tony also advises lenders on all aspects of taking and enforcing security over property. He also helps financial institutions in dealing with distressed or defaulting borrowers. Tony, through his AITI qualification and work experience, has considerable expertise in relation to VAT on property, in addition to Stamp Duty and other taxes. Tony has throughout his career been part of and led large property and cross departmental legal teams

SUZANNE BAINTON, is a partner in the firm of Liston & Co Solicitors in Donnybrook in Dublin. She has developed her knowledge into specialist areas such as multi-unit developments and the acquisition and development of land. Suzanne is involved in the delivery of property related course to students at the Law Society. She has also been involved in a number of property related seminars for solicitors and has spoken extensively on the issue of multi-unit developments. She is the author of the section of the Law Society’s Complex Conveyancing book dealing with apartment developments and is a member of the conveyancing committee of the Law Society and was a member of its task force which engaged with the Department of Justice prior to the enactment of the MUD Act and which prepared the suite of precedents arising from the legislation

MICHELLE MCLOUGHLIN is a Senior Practice and Development Consultant at A&L Goodbody LLP. Michelle has more than 20 years’ experience as a corporate transactions lawyer in Ireland. She has advised both domestic and international clients on mergers and acquisitions, equity fundraisings, joint ventures and reorganisations. Michelle has vast experience drafting legal documentation, providing updates regarding changes in company and corporate law and assisting with legal and transactional queries.

CHAIRPERSON

CLODAGH O’HAGAN Partner, Mullany Walsh Maxwells LLP specialises in commercial and residential property and acts for both landlords and tenants in commercial lease transactions. As a Trust and Estate Practitioner she also has practical experience and knowledge of probate, trusts and succession law. She is the current chair of the DSBA Property Committee
