Michael O’Doherty is a practising barrister, with a special interest in the law governing new technologies. He is the author of Internet Law, published by Bloomsbury Professional, which is the only legal text dealing with the law concerning online behaviour, as it engages with issues such as defamation, harassment, privacy, data protection, employment and intellectual property. He is the co-founder and chairperson of MIDBA – the Media, Internet and Data Protection Bar Association – which runs regular seminars for legal professionals with an interest in those areas of law, with recent events including “Artificial Intelligence – the key legal issues”, and “How to combat Online Fraud.” Michael also lectures on Internet Law in the UCD Sutherland School of Law and King’s Inns, gives regular talks to legal professionals on the developing law concerning the internet and social media, and helped create the recent “Social Media and the Law” course for the Law Society of Ireland.
Aaron Duff is the Global Legal Lead for Production and AI at Publicis Groupe, one of the world’s largest communications and marketing organization. In this role, Aaron leads legal strategy for AI-enabled services and platforms, overseeing commercial, regulatory, and contractual matters related to the development and deployment of generative AI and machine learning solutions across creative production, media, and marketing analytics.
Aaron will draw on his years of experience working with high-growth agencies, content creators, and enterprise clients to unpack the practical realities of AI contract.
Donna O’Leary, Consultant is a dual-qualified solicitor (Ireland and England & Wales) who specialises in AI literacy, education, and consulting for law firms and in-house legal teams at all stages of their AI journey. Drawing on her hands-on experience as a solicitor at Mason Hayes & Curran LLP, Donna brings a practical, real-world perspective to the integration of AI tools in legal practice. Through her consultancy work, she has delivered workshops at the Law Society of Ireland and helps legal teams to bridge the AI literacy gap by providing tailored training, strategic guidance, and implementation support in line with our professional obligations and legal requirements under the EU AI Act. She was recently appointed as an expert advisor to Lawyers Innovative Training for European Law (LITEL2), a European Commission-funded project aimed at developing and delivering AI training to junior lawyers across Europe.
Donna bridges the gap between legal practice and technology, with a focus on maintaining professional standards and supporting responsible AI adoption.
