This webinar will provide analysis of the evolving legal and policy environment surrounding contractual retirement ages in Ireland together with key insights on the introduction of Automatic Enrolment Retirement Saving Scheme; My Future Fund in January 2026. What should employers, HR professionals and legal practitioners expect, what can be done now to prepare for this reform? The webinar will provide key insights from the perspective of both legal and industry leaders and is specifically designed to equip legal practitioners and business owners with up-to-date knowledge on both My Future Fund and Contractual Retirement Age Reform.

The webinar will include an examination of the Supreme Court Judgment in the Seamus Mallon v The Minister for Justice and the Attorney General case, the proposed legislation contained in the Employment (Contractual Retirement Ages) Bill 2025 which aims to restrict contractual retirement ages below the State Pension Age of 66 and will also focus on the design of the Automatic Enrolment Retirement Saving Scheme, My Future Fund, addressing the practical and strategic implications of its impending introduction scheduled for January 2026.

The webinar will include a Question-and-Answer session and aims to be an interactive session.

Speakers

Morgane Conaty B.L is a barrister at the Bar of Ireland and member of the Law Library, practising in civil law and specialising in employment law. Prior to practising, Morgane was a Legal Researcher at the Chief State Solicitor’s Office, working primarily in the areas of public procurement, data protection, employment and constitutional law, and before that worked as a Judicial Assistant to a Judge of the High Court in Ireland. Morgane has a BCL in Law and French from University College Cork and an LL.M in Human Rights Law from University College London.

Fiona Egan, Associate Legal Director, Ibec. is a graduate of Dublin City University having obtained a Bachelor of Business (BBS) specialising in corporate law before qualifying as a solicitor in 2007. Fiona advises members on both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. Prior to joining the Employment Law Services team in Ibec, Fiona spent time both in private practice and in-house advising a wide range of employers across a number of sectors. Fiona has extensive experience in defending employers before the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) and the Labour Court. Fiona is also an accredited Mediator, has specialised in the area of workplace mediation and applies a practical solutions-based approach to resolving workplace conflict.

Chair

Anna Broderick, Group General Counsel and Company Secretary, Mater Misericordiae University Hospital Group. After 15 years with a Dublin city corporate law firm, Anna took up the position of Group General Counsel and Company Secretary in 2018 for the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital Group.  In addition to being a member of the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association employment law committee, Anna was an external independent director for 6 years for the Irish College of General Practitioners. She is also a mentor with the Law Society’s Women in Leadership Law Society Mentoring Programme for the last 3 years.
