SPEAKERS

Lyndon MacCann SC is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin (BA (Mod), M. Litt.) and the King’s Inns. He was called to the Irish Bar in 1988 and became a Senior Counsel in 2003 and is also admitted in Northern Ireland.  He has an extensive Commercial / Chancery practice and a particular expertise in company law and insolvencies.  He is one of Ireland’s leading company law senior counsel and has authored and co-authored numerous company law texts including, most recently, Bloomsbury’s Professional Guide to the Companies Act 2014.

Brian Kennedy SC was called to the Bar in 1997 and became a Senior Counsel in 2012. He is an experienced barrister in general civil law practice with an emphasis on commercial and public law.  He is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin (LL.B.), the College of Europe Bruges (LL.M.) and the King’s Inns and is an Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute.  He is the Chairperson of the EU Bar Association of Ireland, a member of the Commercial Court Users’ Group and a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He also holds qualifications in arbitration and mediation, being a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a CEDR-accredited mediator.

Chris Mills BL was called to the Bar in 2015 having completing degrees from Trinity College Dublin (LLB) and Oxford University (BCL) and the King’s Inns.  Prior to coming to the Bar, Chris spent a number of years working for the Central Bank of Ireland in financial regulation and resolution, and for the European Banking Authority in London on resolution and Brexit-related issues.   His practice at the Bar focuses on civil, commercial and administrative law, and Chris has acted for and advised private clients and the State on a range of matters including business interruption insurance, data protection and planning. Chris is also a member of the Climate Bar Association, the Financial Services Bar Association, the EU Bar Association, the Irish Centre for European Law, and the Commercial Litigation Association of Ireland.
