SPEAKERS

Rory O’Neill is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and is the Financial Controller of the Compensation Fund of the Law Society.  Prior to this Rory, spent 15 years as an investigating accountant, carrying out over 500 investigations and has been involved in a number of contentious matters before the High Court and Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.  He has been consulted in relation to regulatory matters on state projects and is extensively involved in raising the profession’s awareness of cybercrime and property fraud and the risk they pose to their practices

Simon Treanor has worked in the Regulation Department of the Law Society since 2012, he subsequently qualified as a barrister and was an executive in the Practice Regulation Section from 2016 to 2025. He now works as a Financial Regulation Executive in the Financial Regulation Section of the Regulation Department.  He reviews reports drafted concerning solicitor firms, compiles agendas and attends meetings of the Regulation of Practice Committee.  He also deals with queries from the Legal Services Regulatory Authority, solicitors and matters relating to solicitors AML obligations.

Anne Brady Is an experienced Chartered Accountant and Business Advisor at Capstone Business Advisors with over 35 years of expertise across diverse industries. Prior to joining Capstone, Anne ran her own successful accountancy practice for 30+ years, working with KPMG prior to that. Anne provides specialist accounting services to assist solicitors and their clients across a range of legal matters. With expertise in forensic accounting, valuation, and litigation support. She delivers clear, objective financial analysis to help strengthen legal arguments and achieve fair outcomes. Anne is a member and previous Chair of the Chartered Accountants Ireland Technology Committee and previously served on its Training and Education Committee

Julie Brennan (Managing Director LQSI and Solicitor) and Kate Ashmore (Senior Auditor LQSI and Solicitor) have worked in the area of Risk Management and Compliance for over 16 years, following on from a number of years in practice as solicitors. They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in this area as a result of their extensive work with law firms of all sizes throughout Ireland.  LQSI services include auditing Irish law firms to the Q standard, carrying out independent file reviews, annually reviewing policies and procedures, keeping clients up to date with regular webinars as well as bespoke compliance training and solutions for law firms.
