Patricia Hickey, Chair

Patricia is the General Solicitor for Minors and Wards of Court. Prior to this appointment, she worked for 10 years as a Senior Solicitor in the Office of the General Solicitor. Before specialising in the areas of Elder Law, Vulnerable Adults and Minors and Wardship and Mental Health Law she worked as a solicitor, in general practice. She is Co-Chair of the DSBA Probate and Tax Committee.

Anne Heenan, Probate Officer

Probate Applications – Common traps and tips to avoid them.

 Anne has spent all of her Civil Service career to date in the Courts Service, initially spending 11 years in the Probate Office before taking a secondment opportunity with the HSE for 4 years.  On her return to the Courts Service in 2010 she served in a number of different offices, including the Reform and Development Directorate and the Carlow Combined Court Office.  She spent 2 years as Court Registrar in the Court of Appeal before returning to the Probate Office in 2017 as Deputy Probate Officer.  She was permanently appointed to the position of Probate Officer in October 2023.

Padraic is the founder and CEO of Erin International, an Irish firm of probate genealogists that specialises in tracing missing beneficiaries and next of kin to estates worldwide. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) form Trinity College, and is a certified Trust and Estate Practitioner with STEP.org

Section 27(4) of the Succession Act – When the Court decides who can Administer the Estate

Bonnie was called to the

Bar in Michaelmas 2009 and specialises in the areas of probate and succession law, trusts and powers of attorney. She has extensive litigation experience and regularly advises on complex issues in these areas. She has lectured and chaired events for the DSBA Probate and Tax Committee, regional Bar Associations and a number of private organisations. She is a member of the Probate Bar Association of Ireland and a member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
